How To Wear Spring Florals in the not so Spring-like Temperatures

"Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking" `Miranda Priestly 'Devil Wears Prada'🤣 Okay... So I admit Florals in Springtime is FAR from original, but I can't help myself. After bundling up all winter in heavier clothing, I can't wait to transition my wardrobe into the more feminine florals, and romantic silhouettes. However, it's not always easy to pull this look off, when the temperature sometimes feels less like Spring and more like Winter. (Welcome to Utah😩)
This time of year is notoriously difficult to dress for. It's the time of year when mothers send their children to the bus stop in the morning bundled up in their winter coats and scarves-only to have them return home in the afternoon dripping in sweat. (Sound familiar Moms?) So, Annika and I thought it would be fun to share a couple of ideas on how we style our Spring outfits by using layers-keeping us warm during these crisp Spring mornings, but can easily be removed in the afternoon if the temperature decides to climb.

We purchased this black floral dress from Bohme a few months ago! This dress is short sleeved, but can be paired with practically any color cardigan, blazer, or jacket- depending on the season. The color and pattern make this dress so versatile. Annika often prefers to keep her look on the more casual and comfortable side. She definitely accomplished this goal by pairing her leather jacket and adidas sneakers with her floral dress. Sneakers and biker jackets are a perfect way to dress down any outfit.

This cream floral maxi dress has been a staple of mine for a couple of years now. I decided to layer a v-neck black sweater over the top to provide some extra warmth. I love the option of throwing a sweater over a dress. It not only helps to keep you warm, but it's a great way to mix things up and try something new-And if the temperature decides to climb, it's easily removable and can be thrown in a purse in no time at all!😊When adding a pullover to a dress you want to make sure the length of the sweater hits you higher on the waist. This is much more flattering on your figure and will help you to avoid the "frumpy" look. I decided to tie my sweater in a side knot, but you could also use the "rubber-band trick" that I mentioned in my previous post.🙌 Straw purses are super trendy right now, and it's the perfect accessory to help keep your look Springy and Fresh!
